Rompiendo Esquemas en la Misión Lasaliana: El Caso de los Pueblos Indígenas de Filipinas

Resumen


Este estudio se centró en la recolección y el examen de las experiencias de los pueblos indígenas, en particular la tribu Manobo en la región de Caraga, en la promoción de sus derechos a la autodeterminación y su potenciación económica. El estudio trata de analizar los conflictos que enfrentan las tribus que forman parte de la organización y evaluar las opciones y estrategias para hacer frente a sus necesidades. Mediante el uso de la Evaluación Rápida de la Tenencia de Tierras, el estudio fue capaz de recoger y organizar historias del IPEU y de sus tribus miembros en cuanto a su organización, sus planes económicos y sus problemas legales y soluciones. Los resultados mostraron que los instrumentos para proteger los derechos de propiedad de los pueblos indígenas, como el IPRA no han tenido éxito en ganar el respeto y el orden que se necesita para promover y sostener sus planes económicos. Para lograr la protección de los derechos de los pueblos indígenas, se necesitan intervenciones económicas, jurídicas y organizativas.
